Pizza Lunch and Aviary Trip |

Join us for a trip to the National Aviary on February 27, 2010. First, we will be meeting for lunch at 11:30am at Giorgio's Place:

It is just a few blocks from the Aviary. Then, we will gather at around 2:00pm at the Aviary

where we will participate in a guided tour and a 30-minute mini-class called, "Penguins, Penguins Everywhere". The mini-class should begin around 3:00pm.
Families are invited to take part in just lunch, just the Aviary trip, or both.

Saturday, November 7, 2009 10:00 am - 2:00 pm WQED Studios 4802 Fifth Avenue Pittsburgh, PA WQED, in conjunction with the Children's Institute of Pittsburgh is reconstructing the "Neighborhood" set one final time for tours during the weekend of November 6-8.
The group will meet at the WQED Studios at 10AM...early enough to (hopefully) avoid some of the anticipated long lines, but late enough to allow those travelling from a distance to attend.

GPAFG Trip to Idlewild

Idlewild is a great amusement park geared toward young children and school aged children, and is fun for the entire family. Admission price includes rides, Soak Zone (a waterpark), Storybook Forest, Racoon Lagoon (kiddie land), Mister Roger's Neighborhood of Make-Believe, and Jumpin' Jungle.
Dining options are diverse and affordable. You can also bring your own picnic lunch.
Tickets can be purchased from Giant Eagle for $23.00. Tickets can also be purchased at the gate for $28.99. Children under 2 are free and senior citizens get a discount. Other coupons are available as well so let us know if you find a good deal!
The park hours from from 10:30am until at least 8:00pm. Some parts of the park are open before other parts. Details are on the website. Our meeting time of 11:30am will give us all time to arrive, park, and even do a little exploring before heading to the carousel to meet the group.

Idlewild is located in Ligonier. A drive from Pittsburgh to Idlewild will take approximately 1.5 hours. Directions can be found here:
